PURPOSE: A locking device of a sliding window is provided to make the sliding door locked always when the window is shut while the inner frame of the window frame is always locked by the elasticity of an elastic member. CONSTITUTION: An inner frame of a window frame moves along the groove formed in an outer frame of the window frame. Locking grooves(17) are continuously formed in the inside of the outer frame at regular intervals, and a locking device(19) is formed in the inner frame to be engaged with the locking groove. The locking device comprises a plunger(23), a case(25), a handle(27) and an elastic member(29). The plunger has a locking part(21) at the end, and the locking part is engaged with the locking groove, and the case contains the plunger. The handle is operated to move the plunger. The elastic member makes the locking part to be automatically locked in the locking groove by pushing the plunger when the force given to the handle is removed.
