PURPOSE: A device for controlling sudden start and sudden acceleration is provided to prevent an accident due to sudden start and sudden acceleration by automatically stopping an engine and cutting off fuel supply and to accurately analyze the factor of the sudden start and sudden acceleration after the accident. CONSTITUTION: A sudden start and sudden acceleration control device includes: an ECU(Electronic Control Unit)(70) controlling the general motion of a vehicle corresponding to the signals outputted from a vehicle speed sensor(10), an engine rpm sensor(20), a brake operation detector(30), an accelerator pedal operation detector(40), a shifting detector(50) and a manual switch(60), generating a control signal for the stoppage of an engine, an ignition signal block up control signal and a fuel supply block up control signal, and storing data obtained from each block in a memory(100); an ignition signal block up unit(80) for stopping an engine by blocking up an ignition signal; a fuel supply block up unit(90) for blocking up fuel supply by cutting off power; and the memory for storing the data about vehicle speed, engine rpm, brake operation state, accelerator pedal operation state, shifting state and manual switch operation obtained by the ECU. If engine rpm is over a reference level(3000rpm) while an accelerator pedal is not operated, the ECU decides the occurrence of sudden start and sudden acceleration and generates an ignition signal block up control signal and a fuel supply block up control signal. With the signals, the ignition signal block up unit forcibly turns off an ignition switch to cut off currents for ignition and the fuel supply block up unit cuts off the power supplied to an injector to cut off fuel supply. Therefore, the engine stops. Further, the factor of sudden start and sudden acceleration is examined with the data in the memory.
