PURPOSE: An outdoor unit for window air conditioner is provided to improve heat exchange efficiency and reduce noise by increasing the flow amount of air passing through a condenser. CONSTITUTION: An outdoor unit comprises a centrifugal fan(20) mounted to a rotational axis(11) of a motor(10) so as to cause an air flow, and a condenser(30) having a plurality of radiation fins arranged in a radial direction of the centrifugal fan. The condenser is shaped as a semi-ellipsoidal having an open side and is arranged to surround the centrifugal fan. Since the direction of air flow caused by the centrifugal fan corresponds to the direction of arrangement of radiation fins of the condenser, a smooth air flow throughout the condenser is obtained, thus increasing the flow amount of air passing through the condenser. |
