PURPOSE: A structure for preventing reverse rotation of swirling scroll of scroll compressor is provided to reduce noise by preventing the swirling scroll from contacting the wrap of the fixed scroll, while improving startability of the compressor. CONSTITUTION: A scroll compressor comprises a fixed scroll and a swirling scroll which are engaged with each other so as to form a plurality of compression chambers for compressing refrigerant gas, and a crank shaft(51) coupled to the lower portion of the swirling scroll so as to transmit rotational force to the swirling scroll and which has an oil flow channel(52) formed within the crank shaft. A valve unit(55) which operates in accordance with the hydraulic pressure so as to cut off the oil flow channel during an abnormal operation of the compressor, is installed in the oil flow channel of the crank shaft. A clutch unit(61) which operates in accordance with the hydraulic pressure of the oil flow channel and fixes and releases the crank shaft, so as to prevent reverse rotation of the swirling scroll during an abnormal operation of the compressor is arranged at the lower portion of the crank shaft.
