PURPOSE: A gamma voltage compensator of a liquid crystal display is provided to improve a uniformity of a luminance by compensating for a delay amount of data which is increased to according to a length of a data line. CONSTITUTION: A gamma voltage compensating section(22) produces a gamma voltage which repeats in frames when a data driver(14) is located at an upper portion of a liquid crystal panel(12). The data driver(14) selects an alternating current gamma voltage according to a luminance of a video data and provides a corresponding gamma voltage to data lines. A controller(20) controls the gamma voltage compensating section(11) to repeatedly produce the gamma voltage which repeats in frames. The controller(20) controls a gate driver(16) to sequentially provide a scanning signal to m gate lines(GL1-GLm) within one frame period. The controller(20) controls the data driver(14) to provide an alternating current gamma voltage to n data lines in synchronism with the scanning signal.
