PURPOSE: Provided is a driving cam of a circular knitting machine for knitting a velvet fabric, which is characterized by weaving the velvet textile of high quality, easy fitting-fixing the driving cam to a rotary drum, increasing labor productivity, and reducing the production costs by forming the upper and the lower guiding grooves on built-in type on one main body of the cam. CONSTITUTION: The main body is comprised of three divided bodies. Each divided body is comprised of a main driving piece and a sub-driving piece. On the first divided body, the upper and the lower guiding grooves are formed on the main driving piece upwardly at the beginning, downwardly and horizontally. The ridge for elevating a needle to the top point is formed in the middle of the guiding grooves. The upper and the lower guiding grooves are formed on the sub-driving piece downwardly.
