PURPOSE: An electron gun for cathode ray tube is provided to enhance a focus characteristic by improving the distribution of interval between a cathode and an electrode of an electron gun. CONSTITUTION: An electron gun for cathode ray tube comprises a cathode assembly(31), a control electrode(32), a screen electrode(33), a plurality focus electrode(34,35,36), a burying portion(31a,32a,33a,34a,35a,36a), and a bead glass(40). The control electrode(32) and the screen electrode(33) are installed nearly to the cathode assembly(31). The focus electrodes(34,35,36) are installed sequentially from the screen electrode(33) to form a main lens and an auxiliary lens. The burying portion(31a,32a,33a,34a,35a,36a) is formed by the cathode assembly(31) and each electrode. The bead glass(40) is supported by the cathode assembly(31) and the burying portions(31a,32a,33a,34a,35a,36a) of each electrode.
