PURPOSE: A database access method for using the temporary subscriber identification number in a mobile communication system is provided to give the method for retrieving a subscriber database rapidly without changing the structure of a database by giving the temporary subscriber identification number to the associated mobile wireless terminal at the initial location registration for the said terminal. CONSTITUTION: A mobile station(20) requests a mobile exchange(40) to register the initial location via base station(30)(212,214). A mobile exchange(40) retrieves the current registered subscriber number in VLR(50)(216). If the current registered subscriber number does not exist, a mobile exchange(40) requests HLR(60) to register the location(218), where HLR(60) retrieves the subscriber database to check whether the subscriber information of the mobile station(20) is registered. If a subscriber information is registered, HLR(60) reports the corresponding subscriber information to a mobile exchange(40)(220). A mobile exchange(40) makes the corresponding subscriber information database(222). A mobile exchange(40) extracts the corresponding tuple index at storing the said corresponding subscriber information transmitted from HLR in the database and sends it to a wireless mobile terminal(224,226). A mobile station(20) performs functions such as a location registration and a terminating/originating using TMSI value given from step 226(228). A mobile exchange(40) can perform function without any delay by extracting the corresponding TMSI value from a terminating/originating and location registration message and accessing the subscriber information database directly(230).
