PURPOSE: A color changing method and a device improve a visibility and promote the quality of a device by changing color of a pointer continuously and variously. CONSTITUTION: A color changing method is to dispose light sources of three colors(30, 31, 32) at regular intervals on a circumference with a shaft of a pointer(40) as its center, control each light source to radiate at different time for a certain time and induce mixture between these colors using afterimage effect of eyes so as to implement various colors. A color changing device comprises a pointer(40), light sources of three colors(30, 31, 32) and a light source operating control part. The pointer(40) has a prism for receiving light integrally. The light sources(30, 31, 32) are disposed at regular intervals on a circumference with a shaft of a pointer(40) as its center. The light source operating control part(a micro computer) is connected to the light sources(30, 31, 32) to control the light sources(30, 31, 32) to be switched on/off.
