PURPOSE: A method for preparing acrolein by using solid catalyst having a core-shell structure with a high yield is provided which is very useful for industrial production of the acrolein. CONSTITUTION: The acrolein is prepared by oxidizing propylene under solid catalyst having a core-shell structure represented by the following formula (1): (BinAaOx)((100-z)%EeFefNigMomOy+z%SiO2). In the formula (1), (i) A is at least one element selected from boron, phosphorous or molybdenum; (ii) E is at least one elements having an atomic value of 2; (iii) n is 0.001-3, a is 0.001-3, f is 0.01-5, g is 0.1-5 and z is o-90 when m is 1; and (iv) x and y are values to be determined by each element of the core part and the shell part. The reaction conditions are as follows: reaction temperature is 300-500 deg.C, reaction pressure is 1-5, a volume ratio of propylene to oxygen to nitrogen is 1:1-20:1-20, and reaction time is 0.5-5 seconds.
