PURPOSE: A monitoring method for butt welding of a sheet is provided to accurately recognize a state of a welding portion even if bubbles are generated on the welding portion by the image pickup of the welding portion through an ultraviolet sensor and an infrared sensor. CONSTITUTION: Plasma and spatter are accurately measured by using an infrared sensor(10) and ultraviolet sensors(12,14). Average data are obtained by averaging the data that welding is in a good state through the infrared sensor and the ultraviolet sensor. The pattern in a good condition is made up by using the average and standard deviation after subtracting each data from the average data. The membership function of a high defect case and a low defect case on the basis of a reference pattern is made up. Actual measurement data are subtracted from the reference data to obtain the pattern of the data. Then the both of the measurement value are decided by using fuzzy logic. |
