PURPOSE: A computer booting method is provided to set a booting mode of a computer by inputting a specific key in a predetermined time after power supply of the computer is turned on. CONSTITUTION: A computer system is in power-on state by enabling a front microcomputer to control power supply in order to approve power supply to each component according to an input of power supply button(S10). A central processing unit confirms whether a specific key designated is inputted in a predetermined time after the input of the power supply button(S11). If the key designated isn't inputted(S20), the central processing unit doesn't designate a booting mode of the computer as a CD booting mode according to an order of booting set up in a system memory(S21). The central processing unit transmits an ATA command which makes a request for discharging a CD to a CD driver through the front microcomputer. In addition, a CD driver opens a door, and discharges the CD inserted by force(S31).
