PURPOSE: A system for maintaining exchanges using an object oriented technology and a method for installing exchange resources, are provided to use the object oriented technology to divide a maintenance system from call processing software, and to make the maintenance system perform the maintenance of each exchange, so that the deterioration of performance in an actual exchange service can be prevented. CONSTITUTION: A resource installation request message is inputted to a maintenance system(100) from a GUI(Graphic User Interface,102) through an UIP(User Interface Processing) part(106). The maintenance system(100) analyzes the inputted massage through an SFP(Scoping Function Processing) part(108), to check whether a base class exists. If the base class does not exist, the maintenance system(100) transmits an error message to an operator. If the base class exists, the maintenance system(100) decides a range of a processing class. The maintenance system(100) checks whether attributes of the decided class satisfies a condition requested by the operator. If not satisfied, the maintenance system(100) transmits the error message. If satisfied, the maintenance system(100) generates an object instance of a corresponding resource, for storing in an ODBMS(Object Data Base management System)(116). The maintenance system(100) transmits information on the requested resource to a corresponding exchange(104), and waits a response. The maintenance system(100) receives a response message for a processing result from the exchange(104), and informs the operator of a processing result from the exchange(104) for the resource installation request.
