PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing power consumption of an on-vehicle device that can reduce the power consumption of the on-vehicle device by operating the on-vehicle device within only a communication area. SOLUTION: In the case of normally receiving an FCMS from a road side communication unit by an on-vehicle device 3, power from a power supply is fixed to an on-state under the control of a power supply control section of an RF section of the on-vehicle device 3 because the on-vehicle device 3 enters a communication area 5. After completing processing for one transaction, the on-state of the power from the power supply is released under the control of the power supply control section and an on/off mode is selected. Then the on/off state of the RF section is repeated. |
