PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the silver halide photographic emulsion capable of obtaining high sensitivity and yet high contrast and good graininess, and the photosensitive material containing this emulsion and capable of high-quality photographing and the easy color image forming method by using this material. SOLUTION: The silver halide photographic emulsion contains silver halide grains containing polynucleic metal complex having organic compounds as cross-linking ligands and flat silver halide grains each having a <0.3μm grain thickness and occupying >=50% of the projection areas of the total silver halide grains, and this invention comprises the photosensitive material for photographing containing this emulsion and the color image forming method by using this photosensitive material.
