PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device that can display a simulated image of an image obtained by the optical device. SOLUTION: An image file device 4 stores in advance an image, which can be photographed by a photographing optical system 1. Angle sensors 24, 25 detect the direction of the photographing optical system 1, and the image file device reads a corresponding image accordingly and a display device 3 displays the corresponding image in place of an image actually photographed. Since a user can observe a simulated image or the model image of an image in real time, photographed actually via the photographing optical system 1, even when an object cannot clearly be observed because the object is cloudy at preset, for example, the object is found out by the model image and the direction of the optical system is quickly collimated in a direction of the object.
