PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable even a system including an asynchronous device supporting only a transmitting function of asynchronous data to receive synchronous data. SOLUTION: The data transmission system has a data converting device (5) which converts and transmits synchronous data and asynchronous data. The data converting device has a command reception unit which receives a control command from asynchronous devices (3, 4), a data reception unit which receives synchronous data of specified capacity to be transmitted to synchronous device (1, 2) specified according to the received command, a data storage unit which stores the received synchronous data, a data conversion unit which converts the stored synchronous data into asynchronous data, and a data transmission unit which transmits the converted asynchronous data to the asynchronous device having received the control command.
