PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin-film magnetic head which suppresses the corrosion of the floating surface element of the thin-film magnetic head and a magnetic recorder using the same. SOLUTION: This thin-film magnetic head suppresses the corrosion of the magnetic head by coating the floating surface with a metal oxide of >=2 kinds among iron, chromium and molybdenum between the polishing and washing stages of the process for manufacturing the thin-film magnetic head.
