PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coin receiving/paying machine capable of shortening the transaction processing time by making slim this machine in the width direction, and shortening the carriage path at the time of paying coins to be paid out. SOLUTION: This coin receiving/paying machine is provided with a denomination classifying and temporarily storing means 29 for selecting coins received by a money receiving part 16 for each denomination, and for temporarily storing the coins and coin housing and paying means 42a-42f for each denomination for receiving and housing the coins from the denomination selecting and temporarily storing means 29 for each denomination, and for paying out the instructed number of coins to a money paying port 39. In this case, the denomination classification housing and paying means 42a-42f for each classification are arranged so as to be vertically piled, and the coins from the denomination classifying and temporarily storing means 29 are housed from the back side of the front and back direction of a machine body 11, and the coins are paid out from the front side in the front and back direction of the machine body 11.
