PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make realizable a rapid and smooth data writing processing in an information recording and reproducing device for recording and reproducing main data and file information data in a recording medium in accordance with a command from a host. SOLUTION: It is predicted on the side of a drive whether data transferred from the host is main data or file information data and the address of data which is predicted to be file information data is stored in an address attribute information storage part 104. When the data is written, control is set by selecting process main data or file information data in accordance with whether a writing address is stored in the storage part 104 or not.
