摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a characteristic evaluating device of a color cathode-ray tube capable of realizing proper evaluation of color convergence or mis-landing. SOLUTION: This characteristic evaluation device evaluates the color convergence by displaying a characteristic evaluation video signal pattern on a display screen 2 of the color cathode-ray tube 1 and is provided with a video signal generating means 3, constituted of a characteristic evaluating part signal, non-evaluating part signal, an invalid part signal and a no signal part, to bring the no signal part or the non- evaluation signal part close to display area of the characteristic evaluating part, to form a characteristic evaluation signal pattern to generate the invalid part signal in the no signal part adjacent to the display area of the characteristic evaluation signal, furthermore in a display area of the non-evaluation part signal and surrounding parts to cover them, an image-pickup means 5 to pick up the image of the characteristic evaluation video signal pattern to be displayed on the display screen 2 of the color cathode-ray tube 1 and an evaluating means 6 to evaluate the quantity of mis- convergence or mis-landing due to electronic beams for three colors of red, green and blue, by processing an image pickup signal of the characteristic evaluation video signal pattern picked up by the image-pickup means 5.
