PURPOSE: A method of setting child lock is provided to enable a user to change an on time channel by outputting an alert message in the case where an input channel is a reserved channel. CONSTITUTION: A microcomputer checks whether a child lock is set by a key input part and a remote control transmitter at an on state of a television. If the child lock is not set and none of other select items is not selected, after a time elapses, an on-screen display(OSD) menu screen disappears and an image screen is auditioned. If the child lock set item is selected, the microcomputer checks whether the channel is a channel where on time is set previously. If so, an alert message is output on a screen so that a user changes an on time channel. If not, the procedure goes to a wait state for receiving a secret number as the first step for setting a child lock. In the case where the secret number is not inputted for a predetermined time and an erroneous secret number is inputted over a predetermined number, the procedure returns to a step for checking setting of the child lock. The microcomputer sets the child lock to a designated channel when the inputted secret number is identical to secret number data stored in a system memory. |
