PURPOSE: A terminal for supporting hand-off in overlay cell structure and a hand-off method using the same are provided to perform effectively hand-off in overlay cell structure or mobile communication by simultaneously detecting signals of different frequency band. CONSTITUTION: A divider(502) divides the RF signal from a low noise amplifier(501) into a current cell signal and an overlay cell signal. Frequency synthesizers(503,508) down each signal to IF band with each frequency signal from frequency oscillators(504,509). Analog base band processors(507,512) receive the signals, which are filtered by filters(501,510) and amplified by amplifiers(506,511), down to second IF band, converts to digital signal, and turn into a bit stream. A CDMA modem(513) receives the bit stream and provides hand-off in overlay cell structure.
