PURPOSE: An apparatus for cutting a fishing line is provided to protect a fishing rod, to prevent the loss of a float, and to reduce the time required to extract a fishing hook by cutting only the lower part of the fishing line. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for cutting a fishing line consists of a body(10), a semicircular blade(20), an anti-line extraction key(30), and a hook(40). The body having a penetrated center hole(12a,12b) is constructed by integrating an upper member(10a) and a lower member(10b) with a fastener(19), thereby a blade receiving portion(11) being formed. The upper member and the lower member have a fishing line inlet opening(13a,13b) and a pulling line outlet recess(14a,14b) respectively. One end of the blade is rotatively coupled to a blade fixing pin(22), and also is elastically supported by using a first spring(24) fitted in the blade fixing pin. The anti-line extraction key is rotatively assembled to a key fixing pin(32) installed near the fishing line inlet opening, and is elastically supported by using a second spring fitted in the key fixing pin. The hook is connected with a pulling line(43) to rotate the blade. Therefore, a desired portion of the fishing line is easily cut by using the blade rotatively assembled in the body.
