PURPOSE: Provided is a white biaxially oriented film excellent in orientation, mechanical and optical properties, especially high UV stability, which can be produced from a crystalline thermoplastic material. CONSTITUTION: The white biaxially oriented film with a thickness of 1-500 micrometer is produced by including (A) the crystalline thermoplastic material such as polyethylene terephthalate, (B) 0.01-5wt% (based on the component (A)) of at least one kind of a UV stabilizer such as 2-(4,6-diphenyl-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)-5-(hexyl)oxyphenol, and (C) at least one kind of a white pigment such as titanium dioxide. And the film is obtained by melting the component (A) together with the component (B) and (C) in an extruder, extruding the resultant blend onto a cooling roller, biaxially orienting the extruded blend, heat-setting the oriented film, and then winding the film.
