PURPOSE: An electronic commerce system is provided to form a virtual stock transaction type market, and enable consumers and suppliers to commonly participate in the purchase and the sale while designating a purchaser or a seller. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises a plurality of purchaser computers(104), a plurality of supplier computers(108), a server(106) and a computer network(102). The server(106) connects the purchaser computers to the seller computers over the network(102). The computers(104,108) classifies and stores data structure on the purchasers and suppliers. The supplier computer(108) enables the supplier to register commodity information for sale. Also the purchaser computer(104) enables the purchaser to register purchase intention data on specific commodities. The registered data can be changed by the purchasers or the suppliers at arbitrary times. The purchasers can sell the commodities, already purchased at lower price, over the network. The purchase or sale on a specific commodity can be reserved at a variable price.
