PURPOSE: A linear device for transferring a workpiece is provided to precisely transfer and to control the workpiece at low production cost by using a timing belt driven by a servo motor. CONSTITUTION: A linear transfer device for a workpiece is comprised of a settlement plate(52) for settling the workpiece; rollers(60) installed on both ends of the settlement plate; a guide rod for supporting the rollers and leading the drive of the rollers; a tooth engaging unit prepared on a lower face of the settlement plate; a first pulley for receiving the drive force of a drive motor; a second pulley installed separably from the first pulley at a specific interval in the transfer direction of the settlement plate; and a belt for transmitting power to transfer the settlement plate and transmitting the drive force to the second pulley. The guide rod is fixed on guide rod support members(100,110,120,130) and the first and second pulleys are installed on both ends of each pulley support member. A lubricating member(140) is combined to a side face corresponding to the tooth engaging unit. Thereby, the weight and production cost of the equipment is reduced. Further, work time to the workpiece is saved by continuously performing a work as the transfer state of the work piece is precisely controlled.
