摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the resolution of a liquid crystal display element to be made higher easily by allowing transistors whose breakdown strength are low or the like to be used in the display element. SOLUTION: A pixel selecting switching element 103 which is connected to a signal line 101 and a scanning line 102 is provided in each pixel of a pixel part. The pixel selecting switching element 103 is connected to a memory capacitance 104 and a liquid crystal-write switching element 105. Moreover, the liquid crystal write switching element 105 is connected to an auxiliary capacitance 106 and a pixel electrode 107. The applying of a picture signal voltage to the memory capacitance 104 is performed when the pixel selecting switching element 103 is turned ON and the liquid crystal wire switching element 105 is turned OFF and the applying of the picture signal voltage to the pixel electrode 107 is performed in synchronization with the applying of a bias voltage to a counter electrode 110 when the liquid crystal write switching element 105 is turned ON after picture signal voltages equivalent to one screen are held on each of the memory capacitances 104.</p>
