PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve resolution in a prescribed visual angle range around an optical axis in a wide visual field image pickup device having high reliability and to execute image pickup similar to human eyes. SOLUTION: The image pickup device is provided with a main mirror 102 having a hole on the center, a base part 101 for supporting the main mirror 102, a dome 103 supported at its end by the main mirror and capable of transmitting light received from the external, a sub-mirror 104 supported by the dome 103 and having a hole on the center, and a lens 105 supported by the dome 103. The device is also provided with a unit supported by the main mirror 102, turning its tip part to the sub-mirror 104 through the hole of the main mirror 102 and capable of outputting image information indicating an image, based on light transmitted through the dome 103, reflected by the main mirror 102, reflected by the sub-mirror 104, and made incident from the tip part and an image based on light passed through the lens part 105 of the sub-mirror 104 and made incident from the tip part.
