APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR BIOLOGICALLY REMOVING NITROGEN AND PHOSPHOROUS IN SEQUENCING BATCH REACTOR

PURPOSE: An apparatus for biologically removing nitrogen and phosphorous in a sequencing batch reactor and a method thereof are provided, to prevent NO3N from inhibiting phosphorous release by separately storing NO3-N included in effluent or by forming a cover on settled microorganisms in the sequencing batch reactor, thereby effectively and simultaneously removing nitrogen and phosphorous, even in sewage with low organic matter load. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for biologically removing nitrogen and phosphorous in a sequencing batch reactor consists of: i) a main reaction tank for receiving raw sewage and treating it sequentially; ii) a reserving reaction tank for separately reserving NO3-N included in effluent and so preventing NO3N from inhibiting phosphorous release; iii) a mixer for mixing the sewage reserved in the storage reaction tank and the main reaction tank; iv) ventilator for supplying air to the main reaction tank; and v) a time control part for sequentially controlling drive of the mixer and the ventilator as well as supply or return between the main reaction tank and the reserving reaction tank.
