PURPOSE: An active matrix electroluminescent display device is provided to improve the display uniformity and to stabilize the process and to decrease an applied voltage by using two amorphous silicon thin film transistors and P-type driving transistor. CONSTITUTION: The active matrix electroluminescent(EL) display device comprises a plurality of gate wires(11), a plurality of data wires(12), and a power line(13) for supplying the power to the display device. The gate wires and data wires are crossed on many pixels. The P-type switching thin film transistor and the P-type driving thin film transistor are formed on the each pixel area. The EL terminal is connected to the drain of driving transistor, and the power line is connected to the source of the driving transistor. The gate voltage, which is a scanning voltage, is applied to the gate terminal of the switching thin film transistor via a gate wire, and the data voltage is applied to the source of the switching thin film transistor via a data wire. The drain terminal of the switching transistor is connected to the gate terminal of the driving transistor. Applying the data voltage to gate terminal of the driving transistor depends on the gate voltage.
