PURPOSE: A hermetic rotary compressor is provided to achieve an improved operation performance of the compressor by eliminating dead volume at the cylinder of the compressor. CONSTITUTION: A hermetic rotary compressor comprises a closed container(21) forming an outer case; a stator(22) fixed at the inner periphery of the closed container; a rotor(23) mounted within the stator; a rotational axis(24) having a concentric portion(24b) compressively fitted to the inner periphery of the rotor and an eccentric portion(24a) formed at the lower portion of the rotational axis; a cylinder(27) surrounding the eccentric portion of the rotational axis and which is coupled to a main bearing(25) having an outlet hole(25a) and a discharge valve(25b) and a lower bearing(26) via a bolt so as to form a compression portion; a rolling piston(28) fitted to the eccentric portion of the rotational axis and which rotates contacting the inner periphery of the cylinder; and a vane(30) slidably contacting the outer periphery of the rolling piston so as to divide the interior of the cylinder into a high pressure section and a lower pressure section. The cylinder has a refrigerant gas inlet port(27b) communicated to an accumulator(29) installed adjacent the closed container. A portion of the outlet hole of the main bearing is positioned at the inner periphery of the cylinder which contacts the lower surface of the main bearing.
