PICTURE QUALITY IMPROVING METHOD FOR DIGITAL IMAGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing technique for reproducing a source image with a high quality regardless of the presence/absence of artifact. SOLUTION: Concerning a method for improving the quality of an arbitrary digital image 30 having an input pixel window 31 including an input pixel 32, this method is provided with a step for calculating the change of the pixel window, a step for comparing the change of the pixel window with a prescribed threshold value and a step for processing the input pixel on the basis of the compared result.
