PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a less coloring plastic spectacle lens although the lens nearly completely absorbs UV rays up to o around 400 nm in wavelength. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing the plastic spectacle lens having the excellent UV absorptivity consists in adding an mixing the dibenzoyl methane composition expressed by general formula (1) (where R and R' respectively denote 1-8C straight chain or branched alkyl group or 1-8C straight chain or branched alkoxy groups; n and n' denote the same or different integers form 0 to 3) to and with a monomer of a (thio)urethane system, a monomer of an episulfide system of a monomer of a diethylene glycol bisallyl carbonate system, then polymerizing this monomer.
