The surgical instrument discharges or sucks in liq. or pasty material, such as bone setting cement. It has a cylinder (10) with distal discharge nozzle (11), mounted on a sliding mechanism (20) at the proximal end (12). The mechanism comprises a gear train (21,22) converting rotary movement of a driving spindle (23) into sliding movement of a discharge thruster (14) engaging a plunger (13). An adaptor detachably secures (30) the instrument to a compressed air drill (40).
