PURPOSE: Provided is Hort16A which is one of kiwi fruit variants and has silk-like short hairs, an projected stylar end, gold colored flesh and sweet tastes of tropical fruits. CONSTITUTION: A novel kiwi fruit variant, Hort16A, of Actinidia chinensis Planch sp. propagates by grafting or bud grafting on a parent stem, and is characterized by (a) the yellow flesh having sweet tastes of tropical fruits and (b) the fruit shape having the projected stylar end and the yellow brown skin with silk-like short hairs. The kiwi fruit variant, Hort16A, is obtained by purposely pollinating male A. chinensis selection CK15_01 and female A. chinensis selection CK01_01_01_01 and propagates by grafting or bud grafting on the parent stem.
