PURPOSE: An apparatus for providing a voice mailing function in a telephone is provided by mounting a separate module having the voice mailing function in a system matching slot in a private exchanging system without implementing a separate voice mailing service system in the private exchanging system. CONSTITUTION: If an extension telephone(400) is on busy or a subscriber using the telephone(400) is absent. When the subscriber using the extension telephone(400) connected to a private exchanging system(300) is called by a given subscriber(100) via a central office exchanging station(200), the call by the subscriber(100) is transferred to a system matching part by a processor in the system(300) via PB bus. A message and information about the call are stored in a common memory and a request signal for auto-voice mailing service is sent to a control part. Voice data compacted and stored in a voice data storage is accessed by the control part and applied to a voice/signal processor, and a control signal for performing the voice mailing service is also applied to the voice/signal processor.
