PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-dimensional display capable of preventing characters from overlapping, allowing a driver to recognize easily, and providing effective and appropriate information. SOLUTION: Cartographic data is read from a recording medium storing the map data including graphic data on roads and character data, the graphic data from among the read map data is transformed into three-dimensional display data, the character data among the read map data is thinned out, according to the depression angle of the three-dimensional display data and/or the type of characters preset in the character data, and the graphic data converted into the three-dimensional display data and the thinned out character data are displayed three-dimensionally, together with the detected vehicle position. |
