PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To heighten cooling capacity of a fuel pool according to a state exceeding a design base, such as shortening of periodic inspection, a long-term operation cycle, or the like. SOLUTION: In this equipment, one ends of a cooling water supply pipeline 19 and a cooling water return pipeline 20 are respectively connected to a secondary side nuclear reactor auxiliary cooling water pipeline 23 and a nuclear reactor auxiliary cooling water return pipeline 24 for a fuel pool cooling purification system heat exchanger 6 of a spent fuel pool 2, while the other ends of the cooling water supply pipeline 19 and the cooling water return pipeline 20 are respectively connected to a turbine auxiliary cooling water supply pipeline 21 and a return pipeline 22. Therefore, heat generated in the spent fuel pool 2 is removed by the cooling water supply pipeline 19 and the cooling water return pipeline 20 except a nuclear reactor auxiliary cooling system through the fuel pool cooling purification system heat exchanger 6.
