PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably provide the track shape of a narrow width coping with further recording density improvement and to improve the production efficiency and yield of a magnetic head. SOLUTION: Joined surfaces 2a and 3a are trimmed corresponding to the resist film 32 of a prescribed pattern formed on the joined surfaces 2a and 3a and a notched recessed part 19 is formed on a metal magnetic thin film 5. Thereafter, an insulation oxide 35 is sputtered on the joined surfaces 2a and 3a, the insulation oxide 35 is filled at least inside the notched recessed part 19 and mirror finishing is executed to the joined surfaces 2a and 3a where the insulation oxide 35 is sputtered.
