PURPOSE: The communication device and method according to designated information are provided for a user to previously set call information, and to selectively inform the call information or output predetermined sound/message when the user received the call signal. CONSTITUTION: An input unit(11) sets up designated information according to a control mode by a user, and sets up an output sound or an output message for the designated information. An output unit(13) outputs the output sound or displays the output message. A paging information detector(14) receives a wireless paging signal from an antenna, to detect paging information. An alarm sound storage unit(15) stores paging alarm sounds. A message storage unit(16) stores messages. A designated information storage unit(17) stores designated information set by the user. A controller(12) searches whether the paging information is coincident with the designated information stored in the designated information storage unit(17). If coincident, the controller(12) reads the output sound or output message set for the designated information from the storage units(15,16), for outputting through the output unit(13).
