PURPOSE: Provided is a rice cake making apparatus comprising a heating source in the bottom part of a shelf of a steamer without an extra boiler, which reduces consumption of energy and improves production efficiency of the rice cake. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a steaming vessel(100) of which the top part is square shaped and the lower part is cylinder shaped, which is fixed on a stand(101), a rice cake steamer placed in the top part of the vessel, a water tank(110) composed of an opened top part and a bottom part forming a space part inside that is downward extended around the outer circumference of the tank, which is installed in the steaming vessel and connected with an extra water supply tank(140), a heating tank(132) placed in the space of the water tank and connected to the downward extended wall face of the water tank by a connecting pipe(133) to be heated by a gas burner(120), a combustion chamber(130) at the bottom of the steaming vessel that includes the burner for heating the water tank and a plurality of air inlet holes(131) on the outer circumference to supply air needed during combustion of the burner, and an exhaust smoking pipe(134) installed at the top part of the combustion chamber to be connected to the outside for discharging the waste gas.
