PURPOSE: A CVT provides continuously a deceleration ratio, simplifies a gearshift controller and prevents motive power from being reduced by a slip phenomenon. CONSTITUTION: A CVT comprises a rotation center maintaining device(40, 40'), two couples of I-type racks(R1, R2, R3, R4), a rotating cylinder and a ring gear(15). The rotation center maintaining device(40,40') transmits motive power from an engine to a rotation bar. Two couples of I-type racks(R1, R2, R3, R4) are disposed on the rotation bar(60) paired at a right angle to each other. The rotating cylinder is connected to the I-type racks(R1, R2, R3, R4) with unidirectional clutches interposed between. The ring gear(15) connects the rotation cylinder to an output shaft(2) with a spring interposed between. The CVT uses centrifugal force to control gearshift mechanically to prevent a sudden departure phenomenon.
