PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make not only an HTTP but also an optional transmission protocol available even in the case of designating a file name by a relative path with respect to the location of media in scene description data defining the temporal and spatial arrangement of the media data. SOLUTION: This method attaches an attribute for indicating a data transmission procedure to the attribute of a media element of an SMIL file while separating the attribute of indicating a data transmission procedure from an attribute for indicating a file name.
