PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hologram color filter and a reflection type image display device in which the display light is not re-diffracted by a hologram array, an image can be observed without distortion in the front view or near the front view, and a projection lens of a large diameter is not necessary for projection display. SOLUTION: The display device is composed of a hologram color filter 50, a reflection layer 32 disposed near the condensing plane of the filter, and a transmission type spatial optical modulator 31 disposed between the hologram color filter 50 and the reflection layer 32. The hologram color filter 50 is produced by two-dimensionally arranging microholograms 51 of the same characteristics having a light-condensing function and a spectroscopic function in the incident plane direction of illumination light 33 obliquely entering from an illumination light source and having a deflecting function in the direction perpendicular to the incident plane. |
