PURPOSE: A hermetic rotary compressor is provided to achieve an improved operation performance of the compressor by optimizing the position of the oil groove formed at the inner periphery of the main bearing, increasing the volume of oil being fed, and minimizing friction with the rotation axis. CONSTITUTION: A hermetic rotary compressor comprises a closed vessel(21) forming an outer case; a stator(22) fixed to the inner periphery of the closed vessel; a rotor(23) having an upper balance weight(23a) and a lower balance weight(23b) mounted in the rotor; a rotation axis(24) having a concentric section(24b) to be compressively inserted into the rotor, a stepped section(24c), and an eccentric section(24a); a main bearing(25) for accommodating the rotation axis and which has a discharge hole(25a) and a discharge valve(25b) for discharging the compressed refrigerant gas; a cylinder(27) wrapping the eccentric section of the rotation axis; a rolling piston(28) inserted into the eccentric section of the rotation axis; and a vane(30) contacting the outer periphery of the rolling piston and which divides the interior of the cylinder into a high pressure section and a lower pressure section. The main bearing includes a first oil groove(31) which is formed into a parabolic shape having an upper portion curved left and a lower portion curved right; and a second oil groove(32) formed at the inner periphery of a rotation axis insertion hole(25d) in such a manner as to oppose to the first oil groove.
