PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method to address a liquid crystal display panel(LCD) in which luminance, contrast ratio and the stability in aligning are improved. SOLUTION: First electrodes arranged in a first pattern and second electrodes, a portion of which is overlapped, and which are arranged in a second pattern, supply plural pixels that are arranged in a matrix on a display. The first electrodes are continuously driven by periodic first signals, which are not related to the information to be displayed by the pixels and the second electrodes are driven by second signals which instruct the data to be displayed. At any time, the second signals are obtained and made proportional from/to the sum of the products which are obtained by multiplying the amplitudes of the first signals by the state of the corresponding pixels at the first electrodes defined by the information to be displayed.
