PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image forming device which is excellent in bleeding resistance, trapping properties and back trapping resistance. SOLUTION: In the color image forming device 1 for obtaining the color images by repeating a stage for forming the latent images meeting image information on image carrying members 20, developing the latent images with water base inks of prescribed colors and transferring the ink images to sheets 2 relating to the inks of the respective colors, the surface tension of the water base inks of the prescribed colors to be transferred to the sheets 2 is set small in order of the transfer to the sheets 2. The difference in the surface tension of the water base inks of the prescribed colors is adequately set within 15 dyn/cm.
