PURPOSE: A lock/unlock device of steering column realizes a smooth tilting action as no rotatory force to generate surface pressure between an upper support bracket and a pressing bracket is given to a tilting bolt when a lever is unlocked. CONSTITUTION: A lock/unlock device comprises a lever(62), a tilting bolt(64) and a pressing bracket(66). The tilting bolt(64) is connected to the lever(62), inserted to a wall surface on one side of an upper support bracket(50) and guided to rotate. The pressing bracket(66) is engaged with the tilting bolt(64) and connected to a column housing(60) and is adhered to an inner wall surface of the support bracket(50) to generate fixing surface pressure if the lever(62) is on the unlock mode and allows the column housing(60) to tilt by releasing the fixing surface pressure from the inner wall surface of the support bracket(50) if the lever is on the lock mode.
