PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for servicing an electronic book function of a mobile communication system are provided to display and store the documents by implementing the electronic book function for receiving documents of external publishers through a terminal. CONSTITUTION: A terminal(10) transmits a radio data transmission request message according to an electronic book function execution mode, and sequentially receives blocks of transmitted document data. The terminal(10) sequentially stores the blocks and displays the blocks. A base station(20) responds to a document data block transmission request message from the terminal(10), and authenticates whether the document data are received, then requests document data transmissions according to an authentication result. The base station(20) receives the document data to transmit the document data with block units. A document data DB(Database)(30) retrieves the document data to read the document data, and transmits the read document data to the base station(20).
